Scientists recently found out about a new dinosaur. It lived in China about 190 million years ago. It was 9 to 10 metres long. This made it one of the biggest plant-eating dinosaurs in China.

The dinosaur looked like a large dragon. It had a short neck and a long tail. Scientists think it could stand up on two legs. This was unusual because most big dinosaurs walked on four legs. It only ate plants and did not eat other animals.

Scientists carried out research in a large area in the south of China. They came across some old bones in the ground. The bones came from the neck, back and hips of the dinosaur. Scientists looked into the bones carefully and found out that this was a completely new type of dinosaur.

The dinosaur was different from other dinosaurs of the same type. It had a shorter neck and a bigger body. Scientists think this could be a different way of growing big. Most dinosaurs like this grew long necks, but this one did not.

The name of the dinosaur means dragon in Chinese. Scientists also chose the word “singing” for the name because birds grew out of dinosaurs millions of years ago. Birds are still alive today but dinosaurs died out a long time ago.
