Lost at Sea Beginner/ Reading, Vocabulary, Listening, Pronunciation and Grammar Lesson

I

It is June 1989. A husband and wife on a boat get in trouble in the sea. A group of whales attack the boat. The boat sinks. The couple gets in a raft. The raft is made of rubber. They are 1,200 miles off the coast of Costa Rica. For 66 days, they are on the raft in the sea.

Before they get in the raft, they take a special pump that can change salt water to fresh water. They now have water to drink. They also take fishing equipment. They catch fish every day. They eat it without cooking it. This is how they survive for 66 days before the coast guard find them.

Both need to go to the doctor. They are sunburnt and need more water. They need food too because in 66 days, they lose 50 pounds in weight.

For the next holiday, they decide to go to the mountains. They do not want to go to the sea again for a long time. They are very happy to be home.
