About Course

This reading text is for English learners at CEFR level A2. The text uses three different tenses — simple present, simple past and present continuous. It also includes some common phrasal verbs such as “come across”, “look into” and “carry out”. The vocabulary is a little more difficult than A1 level but still very manageable for beginner learners.

The text is based on a real news story. In February 2026, workers discovered a very old skeleton in a church in the Netherlands. Scientists believe the skeleton could belong to D’Artagnan, the famous French soldier who inspired the novel The Three Musketeers.

This text is perfect for learners who want to practice reading in English and improve their vocabulary and grammar at A2 level.
