Language Focus
We use go to talk about movement and regular activities. Notice that "go" adds -es (not just "-s") for he/she/it, just like "do" → "does".
| Form | Structure | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Affirmative | I/you/we/they: go he/she/it: goes | I go to the gym. She goes to work by bus. |
| Negative | don't go / doesn't go | I don't go out much. He doesn't go to the cinema often. |
| Yes/No Question | Do...go...? / Does...go...? | Do you go running? Does she go swimming? |
| Short Answer | Yes/No + subject + do/does(n't) | Yes, I do. No, she doesn't. |
| Wh- Question | Wh-word + do/does + subject + go...? | Where do you go on holiday? How often does he go to the gym? |
Remember: "go" often pairs with specific prepositions: go to a place (go to work, go to school), go for an activity (go for a walk, go for a swim), and go on a trip (go on holiday, go on a date).
