Language Focus
We use get for many different meanings: to obtain/receive (get a coffee), to become (get tired), to arrive (get to work), and to understand (get a joke). It's one of the most useful verbs in English!

| Short Answer | Yes/No + subject + do/does(n't) | Yes, I do. No, she doesn't. |
| Wh- Question | Wh-word + do/does + subject + get...? | What time do you get up? How does he get to work? |
Remember: "get" combines with other words to make common phrasal verbs: get up (leave bed), get on with (have a good relationship), get along (be friendly), and get over (recover from something).
