▶ Conversation — Talking About Food
Nadia: Have you tried that new restaurant on Green Street? Apparently it has excellent vegetarian options.
Tom: Not yet. I have been trying to eat more plant-based food recently. I used to eat meat every day, but now I skip it a few times a week.
Nadia: That is a great habit. I became vegetarian about two years ago. I feel so much better for it — more energy, better sleep.
Tom: Really? I am impressed. Do you find it difficult to get enough protein?
Nadia: Not really. I eat a lot of beans, lentils, and eggs. And I have started batch cooking at weekends, which saves a lot of time during the week.
Tom: I should try that. I tend to grab takeaway when I am tired, which I know is not great for my diet or my wallet.
Nadia: It is easy to do. Even just preparing two or three meals in advance makes a big difference. And home-cooked food is so much more nutritious than processed stuff.
Tom: You are right. I think I need to cut down on processed food. I eat way too many ready meals at the moment.
